I was excited to learn today that my story “All at Sea” has been chosen by Glimmer Train as a finalist for its Short Story Award for New Writers (September/October 2017).
The story draws on the many conversations I had with my friend Abi about what it was like to seek romantic fulfillment as a woman living with HIV. Before she passed away in 2015, Abi reviewed an early draft of the story and gave me permission to dedicate it to her when it was published. I’m still looking for a home for the final story, but I’m grateful to Glimmer Train for choosing to recognize the piece.
